Phei Thein Kung - Chinese Prayers Ceremony | Jan 30, 2023 On the 9th day of the first month of Lunar calendar, there would be a special celebration known as the “Phei Thien Kung” which literally means praying the Heaven God’ for prosperity and a peaceful beginning. Devotees from Zone 5, SSSGC offered thanksgiving prayers in the early hours this morning by performing traditional rituals of lighting incense sticks and putting 'kim cua' (folded pieces of paper) into flames. The Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri RJ Rathnakar participated in the event and addressed the gathering praising the wonderful decorations & and the lovely programs done by these devotees at the Sai Kulwant Hall. A beautiful altar draped in a red cloth was set up behind the North 6 building inside the Prasanthi Nilayam Ashram. Offerings such as sweet cakes (thni kueh), tortoise buns (ang koo), red-colored buns (mee koo), prosperity cakes (huat kueh) bright pink miniature pagodas etc. were arranged.
