Skill Development Program | SSSSO, India | Oct 08, 2022

Loving Sai Ram and Greetings from Prasanthi Nilayam. A national level workshop on skill development is being conducted in Prasanthi Nilayam for over 70 participants from 20 States. Vocational training programs were initiated by Bhagawan during the 6th All India Conference in 1974. Subsequently, vocational centres to train young men and women in the age group of 20 to 35 years were started in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh. Now, this activity happens across the country. After Swami blessed the Village Integrated Program in 2007, Rural Vocational Training Centres (RVTC) were also set up for upskilling the rural youth and also impart moral education. In August 2021 upon the suggestion of Sri RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee, SSSCT, RVTC was modified to Skill Development Programs (SDP) by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations - India. In the past year, around 3000 youth have benefitted from more than 140 programs such as tailoring, beautician, handicrafts, software skills, para medical, mechanical repairs etc. In order to empower the unemployed youth, school dropouts, single mothers, migrants etc from rural areas and enable them to survive in the society with some amount of self dignity, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations - India offer this humble endeavour at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet.
